I have a few Avast free install problems after re-formatting my hard drive on my desk top (uses Win XP).I’ve used Avast free since June 2012 but had to install new version 8. I am using my same sign-in name today and had to get new password. When installing free version 8, by mistake I enabled “Remote assistance” for receiving and sending and I did not meant to do that. How can I disable remote assistance. Also, I think I enabled Android, but I don’t have an Android or any other mobile devices. How can I delete the receive and send remote settings? also, it says I have 2 Devices in “Devices”. one says PC and says Security status is OFF and expired June,2012. The other device gives my real name which I don’t use on Avast, and says “Attention” in Red print. I don’t know what that means. I don’t use my real name on Avast. I also use Avast free with Wifi on my laptop.My laptop has the old free version on it. should I just leave old version on my laptop and not upgrade to version 8? Re-Installing Avast can be very confusing. I don’t know if I can sort things out or give up. Help would is appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I couldn’t get Youtube to work as I need Adobe Shockwave installed and I got an error. But I was able to remove Remote Assitance yesterday when I found a post answered by Pondus answering someones post about removing a similar item which can’t be removed inside the Avast program. I removed it by going to Control panel and clicking on "Change/remove and I took checkmark out of Remote Assistance and another choice I made when installing. I didnt see Customs installation and don’t know who Bob 3160 is. Maybe that is on Youtube which I couldn’t access. I didn’t need to go to Safe Mode. After I solved my problem I wanted to delete my post on the forum as I had solved my problem. But I couldn’t find a way to do that. Is there a way ? Also, once you post a message on the forum, is there a way to search to find it a couple of days later or whenever? Thank you.
