problem of automatic update

Bonjour, I have a problem with the automatic update .
I use an old pc running with Window 98 and Avast 4.
Since 2 weeks, when I start my computer, the automatic update start and the result is:(in french, of course !because I’mfrench… ;))
connection impossible to the serveur
www.iavs.cz(or www.download16.avast.com or…)
(unknown:80)
Does anybody know what happen and what can I do ?

  1. Make sure Avast is allowed in your firewall.
  2. How do you connect to the net?
  3. Use the search option on this board before asking please.
    A lot of questions have already been asked/answered here.
    You may find the solution in one of the threads.

1/ it’s ok wih my firewall
2/ it’s an ADSL connection (512ko)
3/mea culpa, mea maxima culpa :-
I make right now a research and hope find the solution :wink:

Increase the time avast’s waits for checking for updates after a boot.
Can’t remember the exact line in Avast4.ini, but it is explained in some other threads.
This may solve the problem.

It’s ok,I find the solution ;D
It was my firewall (sorry… :-[)…
And now, everythink is OK , updates are ok and my Avast works well ;D
