problem sending and recieving email on Outlook

Avast was running great on a buddies computer until they registered. Since then, the program will not allow them to send or recieve email from their Outlook 2003.

AVASTMAIL PROTECTION CANNOT BE STARTED

then the next screen adds;
THE ADD IN c:/PROGRAM FILES/ALWILSOFTWARE/AVAST4/ASHOUTXPC.DLL

How can we correct this?

Use the Control Panel to repair your installation (connected to the Internet).
You can search the board for the words ‘repair’ and ‘ASHOUTXPC.DLL’ to have more info.
If this does not help, why don’t you uninstall and install again.

Are you sure that avast! plugin is enabled into Outlook settings?
