i have configured Default Resident Task under Outlook/Exchange to have all Outbound Email to be tagged with Notes.
I have edited both Notes (Txt and HTML) according to our policy. Now the Outlook can send out email to anybody BUT the tagged msg is ALWAYS the default AVAST note, not the one that I have edited!
Well… this is the first time I’ve reading this problem.
My notes are edited and always attached well, in Outlook, OE or Thunderbird… :
I’m curious to see how to solve this…
I have restarted the ADNMS server, I have restarted ALL clients (30 of 'em), recheck the settings on ADNMS on the Outbound cleaned msg format and it is EDITED and not in the default format, but STILL when I send out email, the default avast msg is there instead of the edited one.
it seems that avast-client is using the note files from the local computer instead of from the ADNM server.
under local c:\program files\alwil software\avast4\english\ the files aswClnTg.htm and aswClnTg.txt is still intact with the default msg even though i have edit the ADNM’s note file.
if i change the local files, the the edited msg appended to the outgoing mail - but still not the one edited from ADNM server.
the question is : do i have to copy this files manually to ALL of the clients? If YES, then why the HELL that the settings to change and edit the note files is there on the ADNM server on the first place? (sorry for the rude spelling).
(I’m a paid customer with 150 licenses. It is really dissapointed that my email have no reply AT ALL and the problem is not being attended promptly. If this OPEN SOURCE than I can understand, but IT IS NOT. So where are you when we as a paid customer really needs your help?)
Unfortunately, I have to say that there’s currently no way to customize the contents of the tags via ADNM console (from your 1st post, I didn’t really understand that you’re trying to do this via ADNM console [even though you posted to the ADNM forum section, which I didn’t notice] – sorry for that).
You’re right that it’s very confusing that the task’s properties windows in the ADNM console actually lets you make the changes - and still, they’re not propagated to the managed clients. We will fix this for the next update.
However, to solve the problem you’re facing (customize the tags in the current version), I’d suggest placing the customized definition files (aswClnTg.htm and aswClnTg.txt) to a file server share, and place a command that will copy them to the appropriate location to a log on script (assuming your network is structured to a NT domain, or ActiveDirectory tree).
thanx for the reply and we do expect that you will consider to fix this problem in the next update (which hopefully in a few days or week ).
offtopic : since ADNM can’t work without avast clients, which means that all the users of the ADNM must be a paid customers since the only free version is Home and Linux, it would be great if the manual for ADNM is written in detail - functions by functions instead of what you have now.
sorry to say that I feel cheated when seing that the support for international customers is really limited, and the local supplier are not well trained with the product.
you have a very good product over here, please do not jeopardize it by having a very bad customer support. a paid customer is a customer who needs a prompt support. fullstop.
