Well my problem is this: I can’t scan with avast in the system volume infomation , I’ve disabled the system restore and rebooted in safe mode and did the scan and it keeps sayin access denied… ???
So how can i scan in that folder ? I’m using windows xp professional

Windows attempts to protect files that are deleted from the system folders (just in case it was an accident), so they can be restored if required.
But you can’t scan System restore folder as Windows blocks it.
You can disable it (cleaning all the contents and restore points) and then enable it again.
Alternatively, if you’re logged on under an administrative account, you can grant yourself (at least read-) access to the folder…
Explorer → folder Properties → Security tab.
