Since the latest software upgrade of my Avast Internet security I can no longer access my netgear network drives. On another PC without Avast my wife can still access the drives. Can this be a setting of has to do with the latest software update?
Just saying something isn’t working is not much to go on.
Please provide details.
Keep in mind that we don’t have access to your system and can’t see what is going on.
What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
Are you getting a error when trying to access the drive ? (If so, what is the exact error)
I use windows 7 professional, no other virus tools, version 11.1.2245 of avast internet security. And under windows Network I see ReadyNAS Duo [nas-77-85-1C]
Normally it is also listed under computers and I can see directories. Now I only have an under storage. If I click it the netgear software is started. So it looks Avast is blocking listing of that external networkdrive.
Small mistake, the PC with problem has Windows 7 Home, 64gb system. The PC of my wife who can access the drive has Win7 Pro
Since it is a network drive, I suspect the the webshield or the firewall is the problem.
Check their log files and see if you can find anything that may tell what is happening.
