I am a long time user of Avast antivirus (free) and the Avast firewall software and one week ago have updated to the latest version. After update I started to experience next problem:
I am unable to open some websites (some adult like xvideos.com or http://videos.apornstories.com/ and some normal websites like https://bitcointalk.org/ or cryptocoinsnews.com), but sites as google.com, yahoo.com, amazon.com are working ok.
I think it may be related to reboot, which happens in avast update process (because of low battery). I have tried to delete avast and install again, but without luck. Just not want to go by full system installation way (windows 8.1/64bit), so asking for help here.
Is it possible to completely reset firewall rules in Avast and in windows firewall?
Also, I have a problem with popups, sometime Google chrome open popup with ads in other tab. I tried to reset google chrome browser), but also without luck. But Avast antivirus unable to find any adware/spyware on my computer. In other browser (Mozilla Firefox) I don’t have such problem.
So, my questions:
Any way to completely reset avast firewall rules and (optionally) windows firewall rules? Or only way to completely reinstall windows?
Is here some software to scan my computer, to attach my avast/windows settings to this message?
If I turn off avast firewall - everything is same (unable to open some sites + these ad-popups in chrome). It why I asked also for windows firewall reset. I not sure where happens this problem (in avast or in ms firewall).
I even tried to reinstall avast firewall - everything same. I disabled windows firewall and everything same. Just these network firewalls make me feel like dumb sometime.
I will try to stop avast firewall service & ms firewall service and will let you know if it help.
I cleaned my computer with these 2 programs (Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner), reboot, uninstalled iobit drivers utility and iobit uninstall tool, reboot and… looks like everything work ok now!
Adwcleaner also removed Torch browser, may be a problem was in it.
I am able to open all websites and no more popups! Looks like the problem was in spyware, but not in the Avast Firewall!
Thanks for your help (Pondus and Eddy), definitely will continue using Avast products!
