Problem with avast freezing

I’ve had this problem for a while.

Whenever I eject the CD-Drive, put any cd in and close it, the computer will freeze shortly after. I know the problem is avast because I did an uninstall, and didn’t have this problem. After the reinstall I still have the problem.

Any ideas as to why it freezes whenever I put a new cd in the cd-drive?

Do u have any Virtual drive installed like alcohol e.t.c Which o.s ar u using?When u last formated ur p.c?

No virtual drives, I use Windows XP, and been a while since last format
