Are you using the beta or the last official release?
Can you check the folder \data\log
Are there any files called unpXXXX there (where XXXX is a random number)?
If so, send them to vlk (at) avast.com
They may contain more information about the problem (maybe a link to this thread).
Or you can try a new installation from the scratch or you can follow the Vlk’s dump generation routines. I know they’re not that simple… but could help (are necessary) for troubleshooting.
The first link to dump generation (the “blue screen” dump) is not relevant here I think.
The second one (hangrep.exe), however, might help if invoked at the moment the error message is displayed.
