problem with avast?

Hi,

We have a lenovo thinkpad SL510 with Win 7 x64. Avast release 6.0.1289.0

Laptop has become extremely slow. At first, it was only on boot. Then, weeks later, the whole computer is that slow.

Avast is deactivated for some reasons.

I cannot close it, nor shut down the process, nor uninstall it.

I loaded in safe mode. I notice the latest file (classpnp.sys) took a long time to load. When the startup is finished, it is better but I cannot kill or remove avast.

Do I have a problem with avast or the computer is infected with something? Or the problem is something else?

Download the latest stable version 6.0.1367 and run the installer. Then reboot.

If, after the reboot, you have any problems, please report back.

I had same issue on my desktop. So I formated the whole disk and reinstall XP pack 3. Now it is impossible to instal any virus(AVAST or AVIRA). my machine stays unprotected.
If you found solution to your problem ,let me know ,please.
