I’m pround owner of Avast Pro version, but just after upgrading I’ve problem with www: some of them (even www.avast.com) don’t work properly (menu in the top of page can’t be displayed). Something bad with java aplets??? I try to turn off script blocer, but www still don’t work.
No problem displaying avast.com either with firefox or IE6.
But, the right hand menu doesn’t display in either firefox or IE6 for ae.krakow.pl . I even tried with the Web Shield terminated so there should be no interaction by avast and it still didn’t display.
So we are three for three not being able to display the right hand menu, there may be a problem with the page.
I repair avast installation in Control Panel>… (I hope it can solve the problem mentioned above) and now my browser doesn’t work at all. After openinig IE 7 it automatically shutdown.
Are you clean? Maybe some infection is avoiding the browser to load…
avast shouldn’t have (and haven’t) this behavior.
Are you using Windows XP?
Can you schedule a Boot Time Scanning?
Click on the Menu button.
Choose Schedule Boot Time Scan.
Doing so displays a dialog allowing you to schedule virus scanning.
Check Archives, if you want scan all the archives.
Specify whether all the disks or just a specific folder should be scanned.
Select Advanced options for scheduling details.
Select how to automatically process infected files.
Choose how to automatically process infected system files.
Click the Schedule button to confirm the settings.
I don’t think my computer was infected by virus, because I use avast over 4 years (I scheduled a Boot Time Scanning month ago).
I try to start Avast (I click on the blue ball icon on the desktop), but after checking memory and autostart (without any problems), the avast shutdown - it’s crazy!
Why, is it because it doesn’t work or you don’t know how ?
If the latter, try this.
Click the windows Start button, Run and paste the path Tech gave ‘C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\Avast4\sched.exe /A:*’ without the quotes into the Open: window and click OK.
I still a little bit lamer in computers, but finally I do boot scan ;D. Avast don’t find any virus.
After reboot, I try to start Avast (I click on the blue ball icon on the desktop), but after checking memory and autostart (without any problems), the avast shutdown!
