Problem with BSOD (possible reason for this- aswSnx.SYS and aswSP.SYS)

Hi

Here is my problem: I tried to open IE but WindowsXp showed me BSOD error window. Fine I get the BSOD error almost every day so this is just a normal ritual in my computer. ;D I tried to open IE again but WindowsXp showed me BSOD error windows again, looks like there is something wrong with IE. I won,t say I,m 100% but I think the reason for BSOD error window is in aswSnx.SYS and aswSP.SYS. I,m running IE in sandbox mode and I use the latest version of AIS AV program.

WindowsXP Home-SP3
Avast Internet Security (AIS)

Do you need MiniDump report file?

Thank you for your time and have a nice day. Lep dan

What is your exact version? Avast has released a pre-release update 5.1.874 that helped resolve many issues. If you are not currently using this version, please give it a try.

I suppose he’d be happy to have it  - please send it to his e-mail.
What build of avast! is that?

AIS 5.1.864

it’s a conflict with Sunbelt drivers - which Sunbelt’s applications are you using? thanks.

I use CounterSpy.

Hi

Hi Pk I posted a problem between Avast and Sunbelt Counterspy on Sunbelt forum but they need more informations for analyze.

-Can you give me more informations for this problem? ( I will post your answer on Sunblet forum-(if you allowed)
-PK can you contact their technical team to solve this problem?

Sunbelt forum: http://supportforums.sunbeltsoftware.com/messageview.aspx?catid=24&threadid=6971&title=Conflict%20between%20Sunbelt%20drivers%20and%20Avast%20Internet%20Security(AIS)

Have a nice day. Lep dan

I haven’t had time yet to analyze your problem - I know it’s really conflict between avast & sunbelt drivers from minidump. Firstly, I must install their product and look at it in debugger (perhaps during weekend) and maybe we’ll be able to fix the problem in our driver, I don’t want to involve them if it’s not really necessary.

Thank you I hope you will find a solution for my problem.

Have a nice day. Lep dan

Hi

Any information in my case? ???

Thank you

Lep dan

ahhh, not yet, sorry, I was busy with SafeZone for avast v6…

Take your time ;D

Hi

PK do you have any news in my case? Anyway I have been in contact with Sunbelt team and they said: "Problem is not in our product, problem is in Avast’s aswSP.SYS.file " They asked me also for fulldump file if you need fulldump file/s. Can I send you fulldump file via email? PS I don,t know how to send big files via Avast FTP server ;D
Thank you

Bye. Lep pozdrav

The full dump is rather huge, it certainly cannot be sent by e-mail.
You can simply copy the URL (ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming) into the address bar of Windows Explorer and after it connects, drag&drop the file into the lower pane.

Btw, I can see this thread is rather old… does the problem still occur with the latest beta?

This has been going on for quite some time. Others have told you in different posts not to run two resident shields. Sunbelt’s website even gives a warning regarding this. I have never run counterspy, but I would certainly follow the instructions given. Have you tried uninstalling CounterSpy to see if this corrects the problem?

Hi

I know you can,t run 2AV program in same time but way do I need disable CounterSpy active protection? Isn,t Counterspy antispyware program,I had Avast 4.8 and SpySweeper and I didn,t have any troubles between Avast Pro 4.8 and SpySweeper.

If I uninstall CounterSpy I can run Foxit,Flock browser in sandbox mode without any problems.

Thank you for you help.

Bye. Lep pozdrav

Yes I still have problems with Counterspy and Avast sandbox mode. I use Avast Internet Security (AIS) Version Beta:6.0.144
