Problem with CPU consumption

Hello,

I have problem with avast CPU consumption.

Maybe this caused by Skype, but if I put Skype to Avast directories exception, problem continuing…

Look in taskmanager and let us know what is using the resources.
What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast?
Any other av and/or anti-malware software (previously) installed?

  • see upper. I have problem with discussion forum, i cannot put FTP link to picture here. HTTP link to picture work ok.

  • No, maybe windows defender

  1. Download avast! Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

I have a similar problem but more severe.
I have installed uTorrent beta 3.4.1 ,ever since the installation AvastSvc.exe takes 99% of CPU which makes my PC painstakingly slow even though im running on an Intel I7 . Closing UTorrent doesn’t seem to solve the problem as the spike in cpu is permanent even if i disable avast shields.

Im also on the utorrent of 3.4.1 however im not experiencing any of the problems you have said. Are you downloading anything? Im only asking because im only seeding right now and have no CPU usages problems with my lower end cpu.
