because Explorer does that too (it did on my old PC & XP). It’s not just AVs attempting to access the floppy drive when it’s empty and generating this unpleasant noise, it’s also Explorer. Difference is that Explorer will do that when you login into Windows, when AVs when rebooting (this behavior can be deactivated in most AV >>> checking or not checking removable drives when shutting down or rebooting the system.
I don’t have a floppy drive anymore, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Win7 behaved like XP when login in.
Well, I do have this noise even with all shields deactivated.
I am definetly not going to uninstall avast just to see if that solves this “problem”.
