Problem with game file

I’ve been using an older EA game called NHL08 and a program called Jersey Selector to decide which jerseys the teams should play in. That has worked perfectly-until now.

All of a sudden a pop-up warning shows up telling me that avast is stopping the Jersey Selector to open the nhl08 temp file because “it’s used by another program”.

When this happens, the warning pops up over and over and over and over and over and over again and the only way to stop it is to restart the computer. Highly annoying.

How do I solve this?

Set a exclusion for it.

I’ve tried to do that. But the Jersey Selector is in the game’s main file. I tried to set an exclusion for it but it was impossible to set an exclusion for a single file so I set an exclusion for the whole game and it didn’t work. It kept messing up like before.

I managed to solve the problem!

I did a System Restore and then tried the process all over again. This time I managed to access a pop-up window from Avast before it was drowned in all other pop-ups with which I could chose to exclude the app (Jersey Selector) or not. This time I did choose right and the program works as it should again.
