Problem with guard after restart pc

Hi.
I format disk and install windows xp sp2.
After this i install current version from page.
After install and restart pc , i see avast have all guard off.
When i click ON its nothing hapen, too writes try to restart avast to guard on. But when i click nothing hapen.
I uninstall this version and install version 5.0.462.After restart i again see guard off, but when i click on they power on.
But after restart pc i must manually guard on, on every time.
MBM scan report is 0 infected.

Pondus, I think he might have already installed that version, if that’s what the OP meant by “current version from page”.

-Try a repair via control panel>add/remove programs.

Any other security programs (apart from MBAM) installed?

At some point I recommend you update to SP3. SP2 will no longer be supported shortly.

Would the avast! uninstaller help?

I have sp2, but install now sp3, reinstall avast many times and problem still is on.

I recommend uninstalling, rebooting, running the Avast uninstall utility (link above), rebooting, then re-installing, and rebooting. A second reboot may be required.
