problem with ie

i use firefox as my default web browser and from the past two days the internet explorer has been malfunctioning. While i am using firefox the ie automatically starts with" C:\WINDOWS\p3.htm " or “C:\WINDOWS\p1.htm” or “C:\WINDOWS\p2.htm” in the address bar . I have tried deleting those files from the c:/windows directory but they start again in a abt 30 secs time…

i have done the boot up scan with avast pro v4.8 and also checked for any spyware with spybot s&d …

please help me out with this issue

Welcome to the forum.
The only thing I’ve been able to find is the following:
http://pagesperso-orange.fr/il.mafioso/Navifix/presentation_eng.htm

I however know nothing about the site or the fix they offer.

Maybe Polonus or one of the others can checkout both the site and program and advise you further.

Hi siddharth,

Polonus,
Where you able to check out the website and the program offered in my post to fix this problem ?

siddharth, please download HijackThis, MalwareBytes Antimalware and SuperAntispyware.
Open HJT, and choose, ’ scan and save a log file.’ The log will be shown in notepad, right click on the log,and choose ’ select all’ The log will now be highlighted, right click and choose copy. post the log here, by right clicking and choosing paste. You may need to split the log and post in in several parts if it exceeds the amount of characters allowed in any one reply.
Install MBAM and SAS, [b]update[b] both programs, and scan. Post the results of both programs ( copy and paste the logs )
