Problem with installation ADNM and W2008 SP2

Hi all,

I’ve got a little problem and the support didn’t answer me yet ???

I’ll give you the email that I’ve send to support@avast.com

Hello,

" We have purchased Avast ADNM product for Windows. We want to install it on a 2008 Server Standard with SP2. The system is a 32 bits and Windows is configure with a Work Group.

We downloaded the AVAST ADNM without MSDE from the Avast web site and SQL Express 2005.

At first we install SQL Express 2005 on the server with the help of the Avast forum (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=41775.0) and after the Avast ADNM without MSDE.

At the end of the installation, when we wanted to log into ADNM Console, the Avast administrator console didn’t detect any server.

I tried to enter manually the name of the server but it didn’t work.

Could you help us in order to resolve this problem?

If you need more information, please ask me, I’ll answer quickly. "

They answer me to enter “localhost” ias a server name but it doesn’t work too !

Do you have any idea ???

Vince

Hi Vince,

I ever met this case also, but we used ADNM with MSDE and without SQL.

But hopefully my advice could help you to…my question is have you completely download mirror from avast server? if yes then …

  1. You need to test your database at AMS / Console Management, if failed then you need to delete database and then you need to create new database
  2. Afterthat you need to re-generate certificate and upload in to your ADNM
  3. Then you need to restart your OS
  4. After that you should detect your local server, and to make sure you can try with user name : localhost and password : admin

Good luck for you…

Yanto Chiang

Thanks Yanto Chiang for interest in my case

And my answer is YES. I 've completly download mirror from avast server.

How can I do to test my database ? I can’t log into AMS Console mangement and i’m not a specialist in SQL Server. I’ve just followed the instructions that i’ve found on this forum.

I’ve installed and uninstalled ADNM Console and SQL Server 2005 plenty of time. I tried plenty of different solutions but no one works. Each times, I can’t log into ADNM Console Management.

I’ve already installed correctly ADNM on servers but it was 2003 server Standard Edition and each times it worked good.

So this time i’m a little

Vince

Use AMS Maintenance program, not ADNM console. See Start, All Programs, avast! Management Tools… You needn’t login into maintenance program.

Okay, i’ve found the solution.

I didn’t enter correctly the server name in the connetion to SQL Express 2005.
I also installed the SQL Express SP3 because i had errors.

So, in the connection to SQL Express, in the server name i had to write SRVNAME\AVAST

that’s all

Thanks for all

Vince
