PROBLEM WITH LATEST AVAST UPGRADE

avast automatically upgraded program few days ago and then asked to restart.
Afterthat the Thunderbird email client with pop up email stopped to work, says popup server does not responds. The Outlook continues to work
Wehn terminate Internet Email On Access in Avast, the problem disappears.
It happened in the last upgrade only

Anyone else has experienced the same? What to do? :-[

Which is your firewall? Is ashMaiSv.exe allowed to connect?
Which is your email server? GMail? Or anyone that uses SSL (secure) connection?

I have had a similar problem since the update but have resolved it by starting Thunderbird in its safe mode (from the start menu), and then disabling the ‘talkback’ crash reporting add-on. I’m not sure whether it is the fault of the avast update (I think there may have been a thunderbird update as well), but it’s certainly something that could use quickly looking into.

Firewall is ZoneAlarm it it was a reason: avast mail service executable has been changed but zonalarm did silent block

Just to let you know I had the same problem with ON LINE ARMOR FW for the last version. Same solution, same conflict. ;D

I and all the folks I support are on the latest release of Thunderibrd (2.0.0.18) and the current release of avast (build 1290). None of us are experiencing any issues with the two products and have not needed to take any unusual steps.

Anything in your event logs that might help us help you?

Latest version of Avast Pro is 4.8.1296.

Just a note to confirm that the problem wasn’t related to avast!, it was a mozilla quality feedback agent issue.
