I’ve got a problem with licence alert on my Avast home 4.8. I have installed avast on new system. Then registered it and paste licence key. In section about avast there is an information: licence for actualization until 1 november 2012. So everything seems to be OK., but Licence alert window, (an information that my avast will expire soon, and an offer to install avast free or buy full version)is still frequently appearing on my computer.
Please, upload (attach) the avast log:
C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\Setup.log
or C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\Setup\setup.log
If the file is too big for the forum, post the last 400-500 lines of it.

That’s a suggestion to upgrade to version 6, as 4.8 will be history soon…
Just to be clear, the current license can be “translated” to be used in Avast 6 (so even in Avast 6, it will expire on the same date that you currently see in Avast 4.8) . The only reason not to update to Avast 6 is if you still use Win9x/ME.
He won’t even need that, as 4.8 Home = 6.x Free. So he can just get a new license.
The problem is that I’ve already installed Avast free 6.0 once and it casued that I had to reinstall windows. I’ve got XP pro without SP and update - Meaby that is the reason why I cant install any new Antivirus, (I tried AVG, Avira and avast). Avg and Avira didn’t install and avast like I said.

Avast 4.8 home is a very good program and I don’t want to change it. Therefore I would like to fix the licence alert problem. But I will install SP 3 anyway.
It seems ok. I mean, I cannot read a problem with the license.
According to my reseller, Avast 4.8 Pro support has been extended to December 2012. So we’ve got more time for BP to “gel”.
