Since installing the latest Avast free software, I am getting a message when opening Outlook saying file “ashOutXt.dll” is missing. Can anyone help
It should be in the C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5 (XP location) is it there ?
Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You may need to reboot after the repair.
Just another thought, did you previously have avast 4.8 installed ?
If so it might be MS Outlook having the wrong reference/path for the old avast4 outlook extension.
