Problem with Outlook

I recently rebuilt my system, but salvaged my old Outlook.pst file so I didn’t have to re-enter all my contacts, etc.
Now, however, when I start Outlook I get the message "The add-in “F:\Program Files\Avast\ashOutXt.dll” could not be installed or loaded . . . ’ (The path refers to the old location of my Avast files.
Does anyone know a way I can correct this problem and avoid this annoying message?
Thanks very much
Rod

You didn’t say a thing about which antivirus you have installed now… since you said this:

...The path refers to the old location of my Avast files...

Old location ? How come ? If you installed avast! again, it should be in exactly the same folder as before (default installation folder).

Cheers !

What exactly do you mean with “rebuild my system”?

Probably reinstalled everything from the scratch… but as always Eddy, no info about the system, no installed security programs, nothing…

I’m assuming this - he flushed his system completely, extracted his old PST file into MS Outlook. The problem is he didn’t want to install avast! again… Everything is restored with PST file, so most likely those avast! add-on information in Outlook. Since there is no avast! on the system any more, Outlook is looking for those files, and can’t find them…

All he has to do is to go to Add-ons section in Outlook and disable or uninstall all those avast! related add-ons… I am not 100% sure since I don’t use MS Outlook for a long time now…

Cheers !
