Problem with registration

Hi,
on 1 Laptop i have big Problems with the current Version. it tells me that my System is not protected… i allready re-installed avast from scratch. first everything was ok, after some updates it is finally the same Problem. it tells me that the Installation is not registered (0 days are remaining for Registration). Date of Registration was 06.04.2013, registrationi ends on 06.04.2014!
when I try to Register by clicking on ‘Register now’, it requests for selection of Version, then prompts me for my email adress, then it finally Ends up with an error message “Das AAVM-Subsystem hat einen RPC-Fehler festgestellt”. in english: “the AAVM Subsystem detected an RPC error”.
I am using free antivirus 8.0.1483.
What can I do?
Please Support me urgently.

  • Which AV did you use before avast!..??

OS: WinXP SP3 German
No other security related Software is installed
since approximately 2 years I use avast free Edition. before this time I used AntiVir.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AVs.

  1. Download avast! Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

I did everything as requested:

  • downloaded the latest Version
  • downloaded the uniinstall tool
  • checked if any previous AV Software was installed => It was not, since I use avast since more than 2 years.
  • uninstalled the current Version with the uninstall tool
  • restarted the System
  • installed avast completely new
  • registered to my account => avast tells me that Registration was successful, 365 days left with Registration
  • made an update for avast program and signatures, just to be sure that everything is really up to date!
  • everything fine!
    BUT
  • restarted OS
  • same Problem: Registration exceeds on 08.04.2014, although it tells me that 0 days are remaining for Registration! Avast tells me that my System is unprotected!
  • What else? Any ideas from avast Support?

Zu 1: 08.04.2014 ist doch ok, oder?
Zu 2: Kann ich nicht glauben.

Zu 1: Ist leider nicht ok, da 0 Tage für die Registrierung übrig sind => abgelaufen!
Zu 2: Wenn ich den Infos von Avast nicht mehr glauben schenken soll, dann ist es Zeit eine neue AV Software zu installieren.

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.
