Problem with "resolve" window and AVast Premium

I installed Avast on my wife’s Win/XP computer, and it keeps popping up “Resolve” windows with, apparently, no way to dismiss them.

This started with it putting up a Resolve window about her accessing eternal-september.org (free Usenet server). It suggested adding the first level of paid upgrade, so I did that. But now it has something like four “Resolve” windows up and no way to get rid of them or even move them to the background so she can see her other windows.

How can I fix this?

Which version of Avast do you have. I assume it is one of the v18 variants as that was the last issue for XP, but which specific version/build.

Have you tried a computer “Restart” (not shutdown/startup) to see if Resolve windows stop appearing after?

Have you done a manual virus scan of that computer?
