I installed the Bulgarian version of Avast 4 Home Edition yesterday - no errors during the installation process. When the program started, however, some of the text was in Cyrillic alphabet and readable, while some of it consisted of just question marks. Clearly, there is some problem with the encoding and I am trying to figure out how to fix it. I tried a couple of things with the Regional settings in Control Panel but without success. I also tried searching in older topics here in this forum, but since there is no search engine (at least I did not see one) I did not go very far in the past.
Check the setting in Control Panel / Regional and Language Options / Advanced / Language for non-Unicode programs. For the Bulgarian version of avast! to be displayed correctly, this value has to be set to Bulgarian.
Btw, there’s a “Search” button in the top of the forum page
OK, thanks for letting me know. I didn’t have the opportunity to test a translated version too, but lets hope that everything is all right with the translations and there isn’t misstakes
