problem with thunderbird

windows 7
Since avast last update I have had problems with downloading and sending mail with my yahoo pop ssl/tls accounts.
If I turn off “scan inbound mail”, I can download my mail.
I redone the yahoo pop mail accounts ,but now get this problem.

You are about to override how thunderbird identifies this site.

Any help greatly appreciated :-\

Same problem here in Thunderbird on XP with two different email providers.

I have to suspect it’s related to the windows automatic updates that came through last night or Avast’s updates this morning. I’ve never had this problem before and I didn’t change or install anything manually yesterday.

In case anyone else has this problem, avast support sent me here.

The instructions are pretty good, but I’ll mention two things I did differently.
If you already have SSL scanning enabled in avast, uncheck it, delete any individual entries for your email accounts, and re-enable it. That’s the first step.
Also, the directions for the menu items within Thunderbird are not quite spot-on, but they are close enough you should be able to find the right selections. Delete any existing avast mail certificate in the list before you import the new one, otherwise it will just tell you it already exists.

Good luck!
