I used aswclear.exe a twice and i installed again avast but i get the same error.

??? Have you tried to repair avast installation, not to uninstall?

I used aswclear.exe and them used Registry first aid to clean registry. I installed again avast full and it had the same error… i tried to repair using the program panel - uninstall-repair… and i get the next data:

anybody can translate it?

For some reason, ActiveSkin (the 3rd party library avast uses for skinning) does not seem to be working on your system. As a workaround, we may disable skinning in avast - that should solve the problem.

To do that, open the file \data\avast4.ini, look up the [UserInterface] section, and add the following entry:

StartWithSkin=0

hello

For 1 week ago it 's the same for me
I’have disable the skinning in the avast.ini like you say
and now it’s ok

But i don’t understand, because i have not changed my system (xp -sp2)

Change the settings for using skins. After that, try to repair your installation:
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair). You must be connected to the internet while repairing.

If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?

i have repair the avast antivirus whith the control panel :wink:
Avast seems be ok, but i’m waiting for the next automatic updating
to be sure all is ok

thanks

Glad you’ve solved your problem… feel free to post again if something get wrong or, better, come back and help the others 8)
