I had to go into the BIOS of my computer and reset everything. Avast! did not like it. I had only been using it for 5 days so I had not registered it yet. Anyway, I can not update the virus definitions. I am told that the time and date have change; fix it and re-registe Avast!. I never registered in the first place. I just did it right now for the first time.
I don’t fully understand your problem, which version of avast are you using Home or Pro trial version?
You shouldn’t have to go into the Bios to change the date and time, etc. just double click on the clock in the system tray.
There are anti-piracy/hacking checks to stop the date being changed to extend a trial period, etc. Set the correct date and time and register at avast! 4 Home Registration you will then be sent a registration key enter that and things should be ok with updates, etc.
If you already installed avast, uninstall it, boot, install again and use the same registration key you’ve got the first time.
Ok, if it does not work, register again like David said 8)
I don’t believe B. has registered yet, rather they are using the 60 day trial and that is why avast is kicking off about the date being changed. We will have to await a reply.
