I just installed v5, im running google chrome as a browser and nvidia firewall. Since i installed v5 i cannot connect to the internet in any way, when WEBSHIELD is activated. I have to turn it off for “ten minutes” before i can connect, which defies the point. Its also picking up a “MALICIOUS URL” which it is blocking. Its the same url all the time and its kind of irritating popping up all the time,
Help would be greatly appreciated.
The network shield is normally the one blocking the malicious URLs not the web shield.
You don’t say:
- what the URL is, change http or www to hXXp or wXw to break the link when posting ?
- if you are actually trying to connect to the site detected or if you aren’t personally connecting to it ?
yeah, I was gonna ask if you got a screen shot of the pop up (webshield)…
edit: quote deleted, now that the issue got solved
SPAM!!!
(links deactivated in the quote)
;D
That didn’t take the Mods long to delete the link spamming post.
I will add a screen shot of it , you see as I was typing , it came up.
Yeah , it tells me the network shield is blocking it, how do i get rid of that url though. Or how do I keep the pop up from popping up all the time. No IM not trying to connect to that url. It tries to connect on its own. It only pops up, when the webshield is off and im on the internet like now.
What about my internet question, why cant i connect when web shield is on.
your computer alone or with a work group? :
Well I would say there is probably something on your system which is either hidden or undetected as I see no reason for svchost.exe to connect to this .cn (China) domain and most certainly malicious as the network shield states and blocks.
The svchost.exe file can be misused by other applications and the only time I see svchost.exe trying to get a connection is in relation to windows updates and this isn’t one of them.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it and report the findings (it should product a log file).
