problem with VPN connections after upgrading to newest Avast/Home

After automatic upgrade (I’m a ISDN dialup Internet user) of
Avast Home version to newest version (4.5.523, before it was 4.1.XYZ)
my VPN connections don’t work anymore. VPN connections are standard
PPTP Windows XP connections made through “New Connection Wizard”.
Since this same problem appeared on one more computer after
automatic upgrade to newest version, I think it could be problem in your
software. Also, when I uninstalled Avast from my machine, VPN
connections work as they did before upgrading to newest version of
Avast.

How does the problem show, exactly? It just keeps connecting and then (after a timeout occurs) says it can’t connect? What does the connection window say? Connecting? Or Verifying username/password? Or anything else?

Yes, says “connecting to ” and then after some time (timeout) says something like “The remote computer did not respond”.
Same on both computers.

I have AVAST Internet Security 5.0.677 and I am facing the same issue - not getting connected with my work computer. I have to disable shild control and then try to log in. ERROR says authenticating and then it times out. any help will be appreciated. Thanks & Merry Christmas.
