Avast Free Antivirus / Premium Security

i use windows vista sp1 -32bit and i have some problems with avast home edition v4.8
the problems are:

  1. every time i try to open avast antivirus,the splash screen freezes until i go to task manager and terminate it
  2. the webshield stopped working and it says “the provider is waiting for a subsystem to start”

i dont use any other av residents and i only use comodo firewall but that doesnt conflict with avast…

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
If that doesn’t work try, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot.
