problems in using avast

Hi

I want to uninstall mcafee which is free for 60days (this mcafee is included when I purchase my notebook) because the 60-day period is over.

But I install avast and I still haven’t unistall mcafee because I’m not sure if a trojan found by mcafee would be “released” after I uninstall mcafee.

I saw from the internet that mcafee should be uninstalled before installing avast, and I saw that when I installed avast.

Actually I installed avast once when the 60-day period nearly comes to an end but I uninstalled avast for fear that it may be a problem to operate two antivirus at the same time.

What should I do and how to delete the trojan?

If you uninstall mcafee anything in the quarantine will be deleted as well.
No you shouldn’t have two AV’s on your system at the same time and if you want to use avast then you should completely remove mcafee via remove programs and then run there removal tool which you can get here http://thewebatom.net/uninstallers/security-software/ No 22a in the list, reboot after running the tool and reinstall avast.
