Hi there,

I am having problems transferring an existing licence to my new computer after my old one crashed. I get the following message:

Unable to insert the licence file.
The licence file does not contain any valid licence.

I know my registration is active and paid for until April of 2016 but this is the only licence file I can find on the copy of my old HD.

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: I should have said that I have subscribed/used/registered with Avast since 2013

I have downloaded and installed the free version of Avast so I have some protection until I can get this sorted.

You could try the Resend avast License http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.
