I am getting two weird errors when ever Avast tries to update. I have Professional Edition and I have tried an uninstall and a reinstall (using the clean utility) and it is still giving me this error.
Entry point setifaceStartStat2 not found in module C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\SetIFace.dll.
Entry point setifaceStopStatNoSummary2 not found in module C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\SetIFace.dll.
I re-downloaded the setup for the re-install I just do about 30 minutes ago. I had run Symantec System Works previously, but I fully uninstalled it and ran symclean to remove all remnants of it.
This is happening on two computers and I am able to manually update them just not automatically.
Same problem still, firewall is just the basic Windows SP2 Firewall w/ Hardware Router (DD-WRT). I don’t believe I have any other security programs on here.
Please send the following files to my email:
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\Setiface.dll
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\Setiface.ovr
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\Setup.log
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Data\Log\Error.log
You can try to copy setiface.ovr as setiface.dll, then restart to check if autoupdate runs.
Also, upon the installation, you probably updated program from 4.7.1043 to 4.7.1074. Did you run this update by clicking on the green notification window or from avast interface? And were you logged in as Administrator or user account?
Coping over the setiface.ovr seems to have fixed it. I had done the program update via the remove/change dialog box. If you want I can still email you the files requested so you can take a look at them.
