Please, search the board for ashoutxt.dll.
Maybe you should check if avast plugin is not disabled into MS Outlook:
Outlook 2003 > Help > About > Disabled items
Outlook 2000 > Tools menu > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Add-In Manager.
When disable the avast as plugin in outlook, does this mean the antivirus scanner is also disabled?
In my case the same message comes only for other users, not for me (I installed the software). I’m administrator but other are or administrator or user, so that is also no the problem.
win XP, avats 4.7, with most recent updates
No, but email scanning is disabled, that is the idea of the plug-in to integrate the email scanning within Outlook. Unless you have the Internet Mail provider enabled, then that would scan email traffic, this however isn’t as flexible as the Outlook plug-in.
The normal on-access providers of avast would continue to function.
Why is it that you would want to disable the avast plug-in in Outlook ?
Can you explain any problem that you might have ?
It’s not a good practice to have more than one account with admin rights.
