Problems with Avast

My Avast program will not start…
When I reboot my system Avast does not auto-start and when I open Avast and click start I get a messages stating “The operation could not be completed”.

I have Avast v4.6-603…

This problem just started happening and I tried uninstalling/reinstall and I am getting same problem.

Please Help…

Can you post more details?
Which is your operational system?
Do you have any other antivirus installed?
Do you use a firewall? Which one/

Generally, this error is most likely correct by this procedure:
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the pop up window (Repair).

Welcome

I tried the repair featureand still nothing…

I am using XP home with no other anti-virus installed.

I use Xp firewall and a router, but this problem just started happening.

Maybe the best will be uninstall and install again… ::slight_smile: ???

if you’re using avast! 4 Home, open the \Data\avast4.ini file in Notepad, find the line Database=ODBC and change it to Database=XML
