Problems with doing a "Full System Scan"?

Every time I run a “Full System Scan” (performs an in-dept scan of your system), Avast quits responding, my PC locks up and I have to do a hard shutdown. It doesn’t do this on “Select folder to scan”, just full system scan. If anyone could help, I’d appreciate it? I’m running Windows XP home edition with SP3 and Avast 7.0.1456.

Any other security installed on the system ?

Is the full scan at default settings ?

I have “Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware” also installed. Never had a problem with older versions of Avast, until version 7 had come out.

I haven’t changed any settings so I would say they’re set at “Default”.
