I used to use AVG and I changed my anti-virus to Avast 4.0, which pleases me best.
But I am having a problem: when I open my Outlook Express, the values for the Pop3 and Smpt servers are changed to the value 127.0.0.1. Could Avast server responsible for that bug?
I would appreciate any help from this forum members.
It not a bug. Avast always configures your pop3/smtp setting to 127.0.0.1 wich is the IP address of your local machine. It creates it to be able to proccess any incoming/outgoing email… Its like a mini email server that he create to do his job.
Some programs do that… Sometimes its used to test your “placa de rede” ( I forgot how to say it in english… Netcard maybe?)"
Hi rhmachado,
Welcome to the forum.
Please help us help you.
What version of Avast! are you using
What vps version?
What OS?
What exactly is the error message? (If you are getting one.)
The path and filename is of great help.
etc. etc.
The more info you supply, the easier it is for us to solve your problem.
I thank you, and others who answered me, for explaining the matter.
Nevertheless, Outlook Express (6.0) does not run anymore after that, asking me all the time to confirm my password.
Is there any way for me to stop it? My system is Window 98.
