Problems with Outlook 2003 Startup

Hi!

If Avast Home is installed my Computer (WinXP, Office 2003) needs up to 5 Minutes to get usable. Before that time the PC is bussy and so kind of locked.

This problem doesn’t occure when I install Outlook 2000 instead.

The problem also occures if avast ist installed but disabled.

Do you know the reason or - even better - a solution?

Use Startup.cpl and disable everything from loading that is not needed for the system to function. Let’s see if that makes a difference.
