Problems with Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (Second Beta)

Hello,
I have problems installing avast! 4.5 Home on my Windows XP Professional x64 Edition System. When I run the installation progress the software does not detect a 64 bit system. It says something like:

Welcome to the new Version of Anti Virus Software avast! for 32-bits Operating Systems…

If I cancel the installation and open the setup log i get this version number of windows:

Windows2003 ver 5.2, build 3790, sp 1.0 [Service Pack 1, v.1218]

What can i do to make the software work on my system?

avast! should be compatible with Win64 - in the sense that it should work correctly.
I think the messages have not been fully updated yet (since Win64 isn’t yet final either) - so it may say “for 32bit OS”, etc.

You appearently didn’t read the whole message. :stuck_out_tongue:

This is what it says:

Welcome to the brand new version of the popular antivirus program avast! for 32-bit Windows operating systems: Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP and 64-bit version of Windows XP.

Cheers
Vlk

And a Big KRUSOVICE for everyone who made AVAST
finally a perfect antivirus for xp64

by the way what’s this 4.5 beta stuff, and is it available to download?

Haha, Krusovice??? ;D

BTW the Beta version is now deprecated, just use the latest official build (4.5.549) and you should be all set.

Cheers
Vlk

okay, maybe becherovka or jaegermeister, that’s all i have in the fridge

becherovka in the fridge? cool. btw where are you from?

Budapest, i was in prague this weekend
at the T-Mobile Stadium  rammstein jaaaa

By the way i found a traslation error in the Hungarian version
in the trial version where the day countdown is running it says 59 days gone
the correct sentence is (59 nap van hátra) and not (59 eltelt)

i think everything else is okay

Thanks! I’ll fix that.
