Processortime of scanning

There is a button somewhere so you get popup messages on what files are beeing scanned. Interesting and informative. My question is if the appearance of a row with a file name, and how long it stays on screen is related to how long the program is scanning thes files?
Is there a strict relationship?

The reason I am interested is I believe my system is slowed down when opening new files or programs. Some programs are slow, other like Excell opens almost instantly.

I have excluded many file-types on both “shields”
I am using a AMD 2x processor with XPpro64.

Any input is welcome

You appear to have tweaked your settings to ‘Show detailed info on perfirmed action’ that shows each file that is scanned by avast.

The Standard Shield sensitivity default setting Normal should provide the best compromise between performance and protection. If you have changed that to High then more files are scanned, potentially slowing response.

Excatly.

But is there a correspondace between how long the filename is showed and how long it takes for avast to make the scan?

I don’t think so as files are scanned very fast and the display wouldn’t be up for long enough to read it.

bad, because it wold have helped analyse things.

Wonder why some files names hangs longer.
