Product feature questions

Hi,

I have two questions:

  1. I have numerous computers. Some are not connected to the internet, and some are. I would like the ones that aren’t on the net to be virus-protected because I do use downloaded files on them (that I copy over via USB key). How can I update the Avast antivirus database on these computers? Can I download the update to a USB key and copy it over to them like with AVG?

  2. I would like Avast to auto-scan media that are inserted into the computer. E.g., if someone sticks a USB key in, or a CD, I want it to automatically scan those media. Is this possible?

Many thanks.

  1. You can manually download the VPS files from here and save it to a USB.

You can view the update history here http://www.avast.com/virus-update-history but I don’t know if this is real-time or not. Or you could check the virus definition current version on one of the computers that is connected.

  1. Avast does this. There is a setting in fileshield “Scan when attaching”. Please see attachment. The fileshield will also scan the external storage anytime anything is executed, opened, or written.

Ya but only autorun kinda things are scanned ;D
