I sent this refund request ticket email (#TTX-991-20057) on 12/15/14 and haven’t heard back. Any chance of getting this refund resolved soon? Thanks.
Greetings,
I was using your free Avast Antivirus software, liked it very much, so I decided to upgrade to a more complete version.
Unfortunately , after installing and updating software to the current version, it was unable to remove adware, malware and spyware despite 3 complete, full-system scans and regular update checks.
Although the dashboard indicated that everything was fine and “shields are up”, I was still getting a very large number of adware pop-ups, some pornographic in nature, which rendered my ability to use my computer to almost nothing. All the adware/malware caused my computer to freeze up requiring at least 5 “hard” reboots.
Because of this, I was forced to uninstall Avast and purchase a different antivirus program which immediately found 31 intrusions and solved them in less than an hour.
I was disappointed because the free version was great, and I was expecting similar or better performance from the upgraded version. Because of this, I am requesting a refund in the amount of $21.24. The order details are as follows:
Order date: 12/8/14
Order ID: 15737547942
Product SKU: ISE-08-001-12-AR
As I am on a fixed income, I respectfully request you process my refund as quickly as possible, and I appreciate your help in regards to this matter.

There is no application that can detect/remove everything.
2]
The paid versions and the free version are using the same vps and streaming updates.

See reply 1 and I'm sure avast detects things that the other anti-malware isn't.

No one has forced you, it was your own decision.

You did got the same performance + the extra's the paid version has.

This may be detected as PUP and pup detection is default off
PUP = not malware / Possible Unwanted Program

We would have done it for free here in the forum
Pup can also be removed with these free programs Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner
It seems that some people expect a “one size fits all” remedy.
There are different tools for different things. Both MBAM and
AdwCleaner are nice additions to the toolbox.
I DON’T KNOW WHO THE HELL THE SO-CALLED “UBEREVANGELIST” OR “AVASTEVANGELIST” INDIVIDUALS IS/ARE, BUT IF YOU ARE NOT A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE COMPANY, KEEP YOUR UNSOLICITED ADVICE, CRITICISMS AND UNHELPFUL PRATTLE TO YOURSELF. I SUSPECT YOU ARE IN THE EMPLOY OF THIS “CORPORATION” TO TROLL CUSTOMER SERVICE COMPLAINTS AND TURN THEIR DISPLEASURE BACK ON THEMSELVES. GIVEN THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE USED AN UMLAT OVER THE “U” IN “UBEREVANGELIST”, I SUSPECT THAT YOU ARE IN GERMANY OR ONE OF THE BENELUX COUNTRIES.
MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE REPORTED THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS SHAM “CORPORATION” IN REGARDS TO REFUND REQUESTS. THERE ARE CLEAR REFUND POLICIES THAT ARE STATED IN THE TERMS AND AGREEMENTS, AND IF THIS “CORPORATION” WILL NOT PROVIDE ACCESSIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOLLOW PROPER BUSINESS PROCEDURES FOR REFUNDS, THEN IT IS A SHAM AND IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW.
IF YOU ARE A COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE, THEN YOU HAVE OVERSTEPPPED YOUR BOUNDS. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE ONLY WAY TO GET THIS SITUATION RESOLVED IS TO TAKE IT TO SOCIAL MEDIA LIKE OTHERS HAVE DONE AND FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL, MY BANK AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

No, we aren’t part of Avast unless the tile indicates Avast. We simply try to help whenever possible. In some circumstances, we are only able to pass the information on to a Moderator or to contacts we’ve made with Avast employees. We are just as frustrated as you are when things take longer to fix than they should.
Shouting (typing in all caps) isn’t polite nor does it help the situation.
All requests for refunds are noted and you will eventually receive your refund. From what has been posted on the forum, at the moment,
there seems to be a bug in the procedure but it’s being rectified.
