i have the home edition right now and i was wondering is the 60 day free trial download of the professional version a full functional version or what?do i have to uninstall the home edition prior or how?..thanks!!!

The trial version is fully functional. There is no need to uninstill the home version - just make sure you’re on line when you insert the new registration number. Avast! will download the needed files for you.

You can re-enter your free version registration key into the same place and it will revert (again being on-line is possibly required) to the home version.
My personal view would be it will always be cleanest to uninstall the pro version, boot and install the free version again and enter your key.
When I installed Avast on this new computer last Fall, I started with the Pro trial. When it came time to switch to Home, I did as David first sugested above … changed registration keys. It worked for me but as David also suggests, it might be better for some to uninstall the Pro and then install the Home. You can try as I did and if that does not work for you, then uninstall Pro and then install Home. It’s your choice.
