Program Auto Update has never seemed to work

Really, I have Avast set to auto update the program on my PC and everyone else’s PC that I install it on, and I’ve never seen it update on it’s own.

What gives?

My deffs update just fine. I’m talking about the program updating, in this case to 7.0.1426.

Automatic program updates work just like the program update notifications - they are not performed immediately, but rather spread into some time (weeks).
