I use Avast 4 Home Edition. I notice that the size of the program (from XP Pro Add/Remove Programs) is 40.66MB. Does that sound about right? Just struck me as being a bit on the large side and certainly larger than I would have guessed.
The size doesn’t look unreasonable… you can check the size of the avast! installation folder in Explorer, but I think it is correct.
Of course, the installed (extracted) files will be bigger than the original installation package; also, the installation packages are stored for the updating purposes, some additional data files are created; then, VRDB may be created which also takes some space…
