Program Update Question. (Avast! Home 4.8)

My question is about Avast! Home 4.8. If users accept the default for program updates as Manual, “Ask When Program Update is Available,” how often does Avast send out the Green sliding box telling you that an update is available? I mean, if users don’t see it the first time, when are they reminded again?
