Programmci Browser-Hijacked

I am new here…I did a search on Programmci and found nothing. My other computer is infected. I run free AVAST, this is the 1st prob I’ve had in 3 years.

Can anyone help point me to the right direction. I am running Win XP.

I cannot go to any site but theirs. HELP!!!

I would have tried a scan with Malware bytes and/or superantispyware while waithing for Essexboy…

always update the program so you have lates database before you scan
click the remove selected button to quarantine any infections found

I use IE and no matter what I try to type into IE, it goes to the PROGRAMMCI site.

I brought the computer up in safe mode with networking and tried to start CHROME. Chrome won’t start because of PROXY SERVER SETTINGS, It says to go to wrench menu??? What is that???

Is there another way to enter the URL for Super AntiSpyware?

do you have access to a different computer ?

you can download these to a USB stick, then plug it in the infected comp and run the programs from the USB stic…

Try this first, this should enable to use IE

Go to Control Panel and select Internet Options
Select the Connections TAB
Select LAN settings button
Ensure there is no tick in the Proxy Server box
Select OK and restart Internet explorer

And for Firefox there are instructions on this page and you want the setting to be no proxy

Had the same problem. Had to F8 boot in safemode with networking and then restore system settings from Start–>All Programs–>Accessories–>System Tools–>System Restore. I was unable to do task manager or use either browser without it going to the Programmci site. System Restore was the only thing I could do to fix the problem.
