Programs freezing and monitor now shows odd pixelation

Hello everyone,

I have been having a problem with my computer recently. It started about three days ago. While playing a video game, my entire computer suddenly froze, and I tried alt + F4, alt + tab, ctrl + alt + del, but none of them worked, so I was forced to restart my computer. When the game froze, there was some odd pixelation on the lower part of the screen that was different than the background of the game. A day later, I get this same thing, except it’s not in a video game. Today, when I started up a video game, the very same thing happened again, and this time when I restarted my computer, every single program I open displays horrible pixelation and distortion.

I don’t know if this has been caused by a virus, but I have considered it.

Attached in this post are two screen shots of the pixelation so you all know what I am talking about.

Please let me know what additional information you may need me to post.

try to check out your video card, or else maybe reformating is the best way to solved that…

I have been trying to fix things with my graphics card, but nothing is changing. I don’t know what to do. :-\

is that a laptop dell? with window xp sp2 os?

This is not a Virus issue. It is a graphic card Overheating Issue… Garbages and Artifacts suddenly starts appearing when your video card overheats… The same thing happened to me last year. Still had the warranty and got it replaced and everything was fine…
