Can the latest version of Avast prompt when there is a file that is password proctected? I know when I tried Kaspersky it would always stop when it came across these files. Otherwise it will just not scan them.

It doesn’t prompt for password protected files, it lists them at the conclusion of the scan. I’m sure that you would prefer not to be continually prompted during a scan, when there is nothing that you can do as you didn’t set the password.
Yes…you are correct…it was such a pain that I had to constantly click OK in KAV for it to continue the scan. I like to set it and forget it.
No need to worry about that now, avast just skips them and lists them in the report on conclusion. All you need check is that they are ligitimate reason to protect.
